COLUMBIA – Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will close Sorrels Overpass Road for one day next week as improvements to the roadway continue.
Work is scheduled to take place on Thursday, August 6. The road, including the bridge over Interstate 70, will be closed from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. as crews replace multiple culvert pipes along the road.
Motorists will need to find alternate routes around the work zone.
The bridge over Interstate 70 was closed for deck repairs in July as MoDOT worked to improve the driving surface and extend the life of the roadway. A full deck replacement of the bridge is scheduled to take place in 2023, pending available funding.
Work is weather permitting and could be delayed. For more information about this project or other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/central. Follow the MoDOT Central Missouri District on Facebook and Twitter for project updates.
