Final Phase of Route 63 Bridge Rehabilitation Project to Take Place Monday

BOONE COUNTY – Traffic will be reduced to one lane on southbound U.S. Route 63 near Columbia in order for crews to complete a bridge improvement project that began in 2019.

The contractor for the project, working for the Missouri Department of Transportation, will finalize repairs on the southbound bridge over Gans Creek on Monday, August 3. This work will close one lane between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Motorists are advised to obey all traffic signs, drive with caution, put phones down and expect possible delays through work zones.

This is the final step in the process to rehabilitate seven bridges between the Boone County Route AC (Grindstone Parkway) bridge over Route 63 and the Katy Trail bridge in Callaway County. More information about the project can be found at modot.org/Rt63BridgeImprovements.

Work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
