Bridge Inspection to Impact Traffic in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY – A routine inspection of the U.S. Route 54/63 bridge over the Missouri River in Jefferson City will take place over the next two weeks.

Crews will inspect the westbound side of the bridge the week of August 3, and the eastbound side the week of August 10. One lane of traffic will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.

The inspection will also require the closure of the westbound entrance ramp from Route W while the westbound side of the bridge is being inspected.

Motorists are advised to prepare for possible traffic delays while the inspection takes place. MoDOT appreciates the patience of travelers and encourages all drivers to slow down, watch for workers and avoid distractions.

The work is weather permitting and could be delayed. For more information about this project or other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/central. Follow the MoDOT Central Missouri District on Facebook and Twitter for project updates.
