MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT: Nighttime Traffic Slowdowns/Stops on I-44

In Marshfield on August 4 & 5 for Bridge Work

What: I-44 traffic slowed and possibly stopped near Mile Marker 103 in Marshfield

 

When/Where:

  • 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, eastbound lanes of I-44 at Mile Marker 103
  • 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, westbound lanes of I-44 at Mile Marker 103

Why: Construction crews installing and securing bridge girders as part of the I-44 Interchange Project in Marshfield

Traffic Impacts:

  • Law enforcement officers slowing and stopping traffic on I-44 for up to 15 minutes at night while contractor crews lift bridge girders into place and secure them
  • Drivers urged to avoid the area during the work, if possible
  • Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work scheduled

(Weather or construction delays could alter the work schedule.)

Project Summary:

  • Build a new bridge to take Webster County Route CC over I-44 at Mile Marker 103
  • Relocate Webster County Route CC at Rifle Range Road to intersect with I-44
  • Build interchange ramps so drivers safely exit and enter I-44 at Webster County Route CC
  • Build roundabouts at either end of interchange to connect with Brinkley Road/I-44 outer road on the west and Marshall Road/Route CC on the east
  • Prime Contractor: H.R. Quadri Contractors, LLC of Van Buren
  • Completion Date: June 2021. However, the interchange will be open to traffic by December 31, 2020.
  • Total Project Cost: $16.4 million
