St. Joseph, Mo – While crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation were able to complete repairs to the driving surface of the Cook Road Bridge over Interstate 29 as scheduled, closures of both the Gene Field Road and Route AC (Riverside Road) bridges have been postponed due to weather. The new bridge deck repair schedule is listed below. In order to allow the concrete to cure, a 24-hour closure is needed on each Buchanan County bridge.
- Cook Road over Interstate 29 – Completed
- Gene Field Road over I-29 – Closing at 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 3 through 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
- Route AC (Riverside Road) over U.S. Route 36 – Closing at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4 through 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5. All ramps at the bridge will remain open.
During the closures, motorists must use an alternate route. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change. Drivers are urged to stay alert and pay attention in work zones and to eliminate distractions. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive alive.
