SAVANNAH, Mo. – Weather has caused a one-day road closure to be extended for multiple days. Route Y in northwest Andrew County was closed this morning for a culvert replacement between County Road 4 and County Road 7. With rain predicted for the afternoon, local maintenance crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation had planned on replacing the culvert this morning, but the rain came in much sooner and much heavier than expected.
Route Y is still closed and will remain so for the next two days until the ground dries enough that crews can complete the culvert replacement. Until the roadway reopens, drivers will need to use an alternate route.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention to all roadway signing and barricades.
