JEFFERSON CITY – Missouri Department of Transportation crews will conduct a series of maintenance projects which will require lane closures next week along U.S. Route 54 in Jefferson City.
Starting on the night of Sunday, July 26, crews will begin making improvements to the Route 54 driving surface on the Missouri River Bridge and the bridge over Route 50. Work will take place in westbound lanes between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night. One lane will be closed at a time.
MoDOT says work at both locations is scheduled to be completed by Thursday, July 30.
Nearby, Pavement repairs will also take place on the southbound U.S. Route 63 exit ramp to westbound Route 54. Crews plan to close the ramp between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 30.
Motorists are advised to prepare for possible traffic delays while the work is taking place. MoDOT appreciates the patience of travelers and encourages all drivers to slow down, watch for workers and avoid distractions in work zones.
The work is weather permitting and could be delayed. For more information about this project or other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/central. Follow the MoDOT Central Missouri District on Facebook and Twitter for project updates.
