MoDOT: Missouri Route 123 Bridge over Barren Creek Near Fair Play

Focus of Virtual (Online) Public Meeting August 3-10

Polk County – The public is invited to a virtual (online) public meeting starting Monday, August 3, to learn more about plans for replacing the Missouri Route 123 bridge over Barren Creek south of Fair Play in 2021, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The meeting will be available for one week from Monday, August 3, until Monday, August 10, and can be accessed at https://www.modot.org/missouri-route-123-bridge-replacement.

During 2021, the bridge will be replaced requiring Route 123 to be closed for up to three months. During the bridge closing, a signed detour will be in place using several state routes in the area.

For those unable to access the online meeting, they are encouraged to contact MoDOT’s Southwest District Office at 417.895.7600 and accommodations will be made to share the information and gather feedback.

This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.

The Missouri Route 123 bridge project’s estimated total cost is $1,047,000.

Construction of the new bridge will take place sometime in 2021.
