Southbound Interstate 29 now closed in Holt County

MOUND CITY, Mo. – A pavement blow up has closed southbound Interstate 29 between mile markers 79 and 75. Emergency repairs are underway. During repairs, traffic is rerouted east at exit 79 onto U.S. Route 159 to U.S. Route 59 south back to I-29 at exit 75. The closure and detour, which began shortly after 10 a.m. this morning, are expected to last four to eight hours.

Motorists are urged to stay alert and pay attention to all roadway signing and barricades and to eliminate distractions. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
