Lamine River Bridge Replacement to Begin Wednesday

COOPER COUNTY – Route M will be closed to traffic this week as work begins to replace the rural bridge over the Lamine River south of Blackwater.

A contractor working for the Missouri Department of Transportation is expected to close the road on the morning of Wednesday, July 15. Work could take up to four months to complete. The road will remain closed for the duration of the project.

Message boards will be in place to alert travelers of the closure. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes around the work zone. The Harriman Hill Access Conservation Area and its boat ramps will still be open to traffic throughout the project.

This work is weather permitting and could be delayed. For more information and updates about this project or other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/modot-central-district.
