Jasper Co. Rt. U/Spring River Bridge Near La Russell CLOSED Beginning Week of July 13

Jasper County – The Jasper County Route U bridge over the Spring River north of La Russell will be CLOSED to rehabilitate the bridge deck (driving surface) beginning the week of July 13, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.

Contractor crews will replace the driving surface of the bridge, install new barrier walls on either side of the bridge and add signage as part of the project.

Traffic Impacts

  • Route U bridge CLOSED over Spring River
  • Drivers will be directed to signed detour using Missouri Route 96, Missouri Route 37 and Jasper County Route F
  • Drivers will have access to driveways and field entrances at either end of the bridge but will not be able to travel through the work zone
  • Drivers are urged to find alternate routes around the work zone

Weather and/or unforeseen delays will alter the work schedule.

  • Total project cost: $889,000
  • Contract completion date: October 1, 2020
