St. Joseph, Mo. – One lane of southbound Interstate 29 will close soon for work on a drainage inlet near the new bridge on Route 116 over I-29. Contractors from Clarkson Construction Company, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, replaced the overpass and reopened the roadway to all traffic at the end of May. The inlet work will require a lane closure, but one lane of southbound I-29 will remain open during the planned work.
Crews plan to close one lane of southbound I-29 near Route 116 (mile marker 33 to mile marker 32) on Monday, July 13, beginning at 9 a.m. They hope to have all work complete by noon the same day.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. Please remember that all roads are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
