St. Louis Work Zones for July 9- July 15

ST. LOUIS – Drivers who plan to use Jefferson in the city of St. Louis near Interstate 44 this weekend will need to find alternate routes as MoDOT will close the roadway under the interstate to remove the westbound bridge over Jefferson.

Crews will close Jefferson, in both directions, starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 10, with all lanes being closed by 8 p.m.  The ramp from eastbound I-44 to Jefferson, the ramp from westbound I-44 to Jefferson and the ramp from Jefferson to westbound I-44 will all remain open. Drivers on northbound Jefferson will not be able to access eastbound or westbound I-44.  Northbound Jefferson will be closed at Russell, but local traffic will be able to access the businesses further north, such as Johnnie Brock’s and Randall’s.

Detours for the closure will be in place. All Jefferson lanes should reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, July 13.

Motorists traveling on Interstate 270 should be aware that two left southbound and northbound lanes will be closed at Route 370 for bridge painting. These lanes are scheduled to close starting at 8 p.m. Friday, July 10 and are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, July 13.

For more on roadway closures due to construction, additional work zone information and real-time roadway weather conditions go to http://traveler.modot.org/map.  For real-time traffic, visit www.gatewayguide.com. All work is subject to change and may be shifted due to inclement weather.
