Chip seal project to close a Harrison County roadway

BETHANY, Mo. – A chip seal project is scheduled to close a route southwest of Bethany tomorrow and Wednesday, July 7 and 8. Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation will close Route BB in Harrison County between U.S. Route 136 and Route P from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, in order to complete the preventative maintenance project.

During the closure, motorists should use an alternate route. While local traffic will be permitted, due to the oil used in a chip seal process, it is recommended local traffic seek an alternate route, if possible.

MoDOT does its best to be good stewards of the monies provided by taxpayers. One of the ways is to employ many preventative maintenance methods, such as chip seals.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. Motorists are urged to stay alert and pay attention to all roadway signing and barricades and to eliminate distractions. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
