What: New U.S. Route 160 bridge over BNSF Railroad OPEN to traffic at Lamar

When: 8:40 p.m., Tuesday, June 23

Details: Contractor crews finished work to build new Route 160 bridge over BNSF Railroad

Project details:

  • New bridge is 43-feet wide with two 12-foot driving lanes, two eight-foot wide shoulders with barrier curb and fencing on both sides. It also is three feet higher over the BNSF Railroad tracks
  • The bridge was originally closed in February 2020. Completion was delayed due to weather and unforeseen construction issues.
  • Total project cost: $4.4 million
  • Prime contractor: Hartman & Company, Springfield
