JACKSON COUNTY– The Missouri Department of Transportation will CLOSE various lanes and ramps along I-70 in the downtown Kansas City area this week beginning on Wednesday, June 24. These closures will be overnight between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Motorists must find alternate routes during this time. All work is weather permitting.
Wednesday, June 24
- There will be various intermittent ramp closures along westbound I-70 between Van Brunt Blvd. and 23rd St. on Wednesday, June 24, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.
Thursday, June 25
- There will be various intermittent ramp closures along westbound I-70 between U.S. 40 Highway and 18th St. from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning. These closures should only last about an hour in duration per ramp.
Friday, June 26
- Crews will CLOSE the ramp from westbound I-70 to northbound U.S. 71/westbound I-70 beginning at approximately 8 p.m. on Friday, June 26, until 6 a.m. the following morning
- There will be intermittent ramp closures along westbound I-70 between 18th St. and Troost Ave. from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning. These closures should only last about an hour in duration per ramp.
Saturday, June 27
- Crews will CLOSE the ramp from eastbound I-670 to eastbound I-70 beginning at approximately 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, until 6 a.m. the following morning.
- There will be intermittent ramp closures along eastbound I-70 between I-670 and Paseo Blvd. from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning. These closures should only last about an hour in duration per ramp.
This closure is part of a pavement rehabilitation project along both directions of I-70 in downtown Kansas City from approximately State Line to the Manchester Trafficway scheduled to be completed by mid-October 2020. All work is weather permitting.
