Pavement repairs planned for U.S. Route 36 in St. Joseph

St. Joseph, Mo. – Drivers who regularly utilize U.S. Route 36 in St. Joseph will have a smoother ride soon. The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Herzog Contracting Corp. of St. Joseph to repair portions of the pavement on U.S. Route 36 between the Missouri River and the Platte River, east of Route AC (Riverside Road).

Herzog plans to work on U.S. Route 36 Wednesday, June 24, through Saturday, June 27, during daylight hours. One lane of U.S. Route 36 will remain open throughout the work. Some single-lane closures may remain in place overnight due to the nature of the work. The exact locations and progression of the work is still to be determined. As MoDOT receives updates from the contractor, we will relay them to the traveling public as quickly as possible.

During this time, Herzog also plans to work on pavement improvements at the intersection of Route 6 (Frederick Avenue) and Woodbine Road, just west of Interstate 29. The exact schedule of work at that location is not yet known. As information is received, MoDOT will provide updates.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. Please remember that all roads are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
