PLATTE COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will reduce northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 29 down to one lane at the intersection of the Route 273 Bridge from 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 12 until 5:00 a.m. Monday, June 15 for bridge demolition work.
During bridge demolition, I-29 traffic will be routed up and down the ramps that intersect I-29 and Route 273. In addition, there will be no access to Route 273. Route 273 traffic will be detoured on Route 371/Route 92.
This is the first of several stages of a bridge replacement project. More details of closures and detours will be forthcoming. All work is weather dependent.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
