Missouri River Bridge Maintenance to Impact Traffic in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY - Motorists are advised to watch for workers and lane closures on the Missouri River Bridge in Jefferson City next week as routine maintenance will be taking place.

Missouri Department of Transportation crews will be working on eastbound U.S. Route 54/northbound U.S. Route 63 along the bridge on Monday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 9. They will close one lane of traffic between 6:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day. The work will also close the entrance ramp from Main Street onto Route 54/63.

MoDOT says they appreciate the patience of travelers while the work takes place. It also says drivers should focus on the road, obey all traffic signs, and watch for workers in the work zone.

Work is weather permitting and could be delayed. For more information about this project or other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/central.
