BOONE COUNTY – A project working to improve safety devices and driving surfaces along Interstate 70 Outer Roads will continue with pavement work taking place around the city of Columbia next week.
Starting Monday, June 8, contractors for the Missouri Department of Transportation will be paving the Interstate 70 Drive Southeast between Route Z and St. Charles Road.
Once the southeast road work is complete, crews will begin paving the I-70 Drive Northwest between Stadium Boulevard and Abilene Acres.
The work at both locations will require multiple single lane closures. Flaggers and pilot vehicles will guide motorists through the work zones. Motorists are advised to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs and avoid any distractions.
This work is part of a larger project occurring at several locations along Interstate 70 Outer Roads in Boone and Callaway Counties throughout the summer.
This project is expected to be completed by November 1.
This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
