MoDOT closes northbound ramp to Westbound I-270 June 8

MoDOT to close northbound Lindbergh Blvd. ramp to westbound I-270 for two years beginning Monday, June 8

ST. LOUISMotorists who regularly use the Interstate 270 and Lindbergh (Route 67) interchange in North St. Louis County should be aware of a ramp closure starting next week.

Starting Monday, June 8 at 9 a.m., crews will close the ramp from northbound Lindbergh to westbound I-270 for two years. During the closure, crews will rebuild the ramp as part of the I-270 North Project.

“This closure begins our process of constructing a new, more efficient and improved interchange system at I-270 and Lindbergh Blvd.,” said Justin Wolf, project director for MoDOT’s I-270 North Project.

Motorists traveling northbound on Lindbergh will be able to access I-270 by taking westbound Missouri Bottom Road to I-270. Motorists on northbound Lindbergh can also use the U-turn lanes at Utz Lane and Fee Fee Hills Drive to southbound Lindbergh and take westbound Missouri Bottom Road to access I-270. All detours will be marked.

In addition to the I-270 North Project northbound Lindbergh ramp closure, drivers should make note that St. Louis County will be resurfacing James S. McDonnell Blvd. and it will be an active work zone for the next month or two.

“We are working closely with MoDOT’s I-270 North Project Director, Justin Wolf to ensure that drivers have safe routes to reach I-270 with as little disruption as possible,” said Deanna Venker, St. Louis County Director of Transportation and Public Works.

Media interviews related to the Lindbergh ramp closure or other I-270 North Project construction activities scheduled for June 2020, are available Friday, June 5 between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. To schedule an interview time, please call Nina Thompson at: 314-370-4187.
