COFFEY, Mo. – Good news for drivers who use Daviess County Route B: the roadway will remain open for the remainder of a chip seal project. Instead of closing the road as originally planned, crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation will now use flaggers to direct drivers around the chip seal project on Route B, from Interstate 35 to Route 190 today, Thursday, June 4 until 2:30 p.m. Crews will continue to use flaggers when they return to complete the project Monday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 9 from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Drivers will experience delays on Route B in both directions and may wish to use an alternate route. MoDOT does its best to be good stewards of the monies provided by taxpayers. One of the ways is to employ many preventative maintenance methods, such as chip seals.
All work is weather-permitting and schedules are subject to change. Motorists are urged to stay alert and pay attention to all roadway signing and barricades and to eliminate distractions. Crews will be working close to traffic. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
