What: Law enforcement officers along with MoDOT crews slowing and stopping traffic on I-44 west of Springfield between Greene County Routes PP/K (Mile Marker 61) and Missouri Route 360 (Mile Marker 69) to allow crews to blast rock at the Greene County Route N/T interchange (Mile Marker 67)
When: 6:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight (Tuesday, June 2)
Why: Contractor crews clearing away rock to extend interchange ramps at several interchanges between Lawrence County Route Z near Halltown and Chestnut Expressway/Missouri Route 266 in west Springfield (Mile Markers 58-72)
Traffic Impacts:
- I-44 traffic will be slowed and stopped for up to 20 minutes before and after the rock blasting to ensure the safety of motorists
- Traffic attempting to enter I-44 from interchange ramps in the area will be stopped for up to 20 minutes
Details: Work is part of a larger project to resurface I-44, lengthen interchange ramps and install new guardrail between a point east of Lawrence County Route Z (Mile Marker 58) and Missouri Route 266/Chestnut Expressway (Mile Marker 72) west of Springfield.
