CLAY/PLATTE COUNTIES– The Missouri Department of Transportation is now wrapping up an extensive daytime and nighttime asphalt paving and guardrail improvement project along Route 9 in Clay and Platte Counties, which began Monday, April 20 and will tentatively end in mid-June.
Crews will make the following traffic changes as part of the project. All work is weather dependent.
- Crews will close the Route 169 southbound ramp to Route 9 southbound from 7 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 29 and again Monday, June 1 for removing equipment and finishing punch list items
- Crews will close various lanes of southbound and northbound Route 9 between I-635 and North Oak Trafficway from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. daily from now until Friday, June 12 for removing equipment and finishing punch list items
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
