Bridge work wrapping up south of Carrollton

CARROLLTON, Mo. – Two bridge rehabilitation projects south of Carrollton on U.S. Route 24/65 should be complete soon. The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Lehman Construction, LLC to complete a bundle of four bridge rehabilitations. The Chariton River and Long Creek bridges on U.S. Route 24 in Chariton County were completed in 2019. Crews plan to complete the Missouri River Overflow Bridge, located 2 miles north of the Missouri River, next week. When that project is complete, they have one to two days of work on the Wakenda Creek Bridge just south of Carrollton.

For the final work on these two bridge projects, traffic will be narrowed to one lane and directed over the bridge with traffic signals.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones.
