Cole County Road Improvement Project to Begin Monday

COLE COUNTY – Motorists will soon see improved driving surfaces on two roadways in Cole County.

Starting Monday, May 18, a contractor for the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin making improvements to Routes E, between U.S. Route 54 and Route B, and Route M, between U.S. Route 50 and Route W. Crews will begin with work on Route E and will transition to Route M at a later date.

Work includes resurfacing the driving surface, shoulder additions, and sidewalk improvements to meet Americans with Disability Act (ADA) standards.

One lane will be closed to traffic during weekday hours while work takes place. Signs, flaggers and a pilot car will guide motorists through the work zone.

The project is expected to be completed in November. Motorists are asked to slow down, pay attention and watch for crews working in the work zone.
