BOONE COUNTY – Motorists along Boone County Route HH will need to find an alternate route around the Hinkson Creek bridge as work begins to replace the bridge deck next week.
A contractor working for the Missouri Department of Transportation is scheduled to close the road and begin the rehabilitation process on the bridge on Monday, May 18. The bridge will be closed for up to three months while work takes place.
A signed detour will be in place. Motorists may use Routes B, OO, and Z to reach Route HH on either side of the bridge.
The existing bridge was built in 1961 and the current deck is in poor condition. The new deck will increase the width of the driving surface, which will improve safety for travelers.
This bridge is included in Governor Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
