MOUND CITY, Mo. – The closure scheduled for a section of Holt County Route E has been extended through Thursday, May 8. Contractors from Clarkson Construction Company, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, are in the process of completing deck replacement projects for the I-29 bridges over Route E and Kimsey Creek, located south of Mound City.
For safety during the removal of the bridge deck on I-29, traffic has not been allowed on the section of Route E underneath the bridge since Monday, May 4. The daily closures were scheduled to end tomorrow, Wednesday, May 6, but have been extended to include Thursday, May 8 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. During each closure, motorists must use an alternate route.
These bridges are included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
All work is weather-permitting and schedules are subject to change. Motorists are urged to stay alert and pay attention to all roadway signing and barricades and to eliminate distractions. Crews will be working close to traffic. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
