Locust Street in Columbia to Undergo ADA Improvement Work Next Week

COLUMBIA – As part of the ongoing Route 163/Providence Road sidewalk and pedestrian improvements project in Columbia, access will be limited to Locust Street starting next week.

Starting on Monday May 4, access to Locust Street on the east side of Providence Road will be closed to traffic until Monday May 11. Locust Street properties will still be accessible to motorists through alternate routes.

This entrance closure will allow contractors working for the Missouri Department of Transportation to perform sidewalk improvement work that will bring the sidewalks into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
