HANNIBAL – The week of May 11, Emery Sapp & Sons, of Columbia, Missouri, is scheduled to begin resurfacing a total of nearly 22.5 miles on Missouri Route 154 in Monroe and Ralls counties.
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded the contract earlier this year in the amount of $3,592,854 for the two resurfacing projects. Included in the two projects will be just over thirteen miles of Missouri Route 154 will be resurfaced between U.S. Route 24 in Paris and Missouri Route 107 in Monroe County in addition to another nine miles between Missouri Route 107 in Monroe County and Missouri Route19 near Perry in Ralls County. The initial phase of the projects will include pavement repairs occurring through the middle of June. There will be a slight break in the schedule with resurfacing operations set to begin immediately following the Independence Day holiday and expected to be complete just in time for the Labor Day holiday.
Motorists can expect delays as traffic will be reduced to one lane with the use of flaggers for traffic control. Work will occur during daytime hours and include be a width restriction of twelve feet in place for the duration of the work zone.
