RAVENWOOD, Mo. – A resurfacing and shoulder improvement project on Route 46 in Nodaway and Worth counties is scheduled to begin next week. The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Herzog Contracting Corp. to complete the resurfacing of Route 46 from U.S. Route 169 at Grant City to U.S. Route 136 at Ravenwood.
The contractor will begin widening and overlaying the shoulders on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. The shoulder improvements should last approximately two weeks followed by roadway resurfacing. All work is expected to be complete by mid-July.
Pilot cars will be used to direct motorists around the lane closures. An 11-foot width restriction will be in place for the duration of the project. Crews will be on-site during daylight hours Monday through Saturday. Some work may occur on Sundays, if necessary, to complete the project on schedule.
Signs will be in place alerting motorists of the work and planned lane closures. All work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled.
MoDOT encourages all travelers to slow down, especially in work zones, as there will be large equipment and workers near the driving lanes. As always, please buckle up, eliminate distractions, pay attention and drive safely so everyone is able to Arrive Alive.
