MONITEAU COUNTY – A contractor for the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin a replacement and rehabilitation project on two Moniteau County Route CC bridges, located near High Point, in early May.
One Route CC bridge, located over Medlen Creek just north of Moniteau County Route C, will undergo replacement, and the other Route CC bridge, located over Burris Fork Creek just north of Watson Road, will undergo a rehabilitation.
The existing Route CC bridges were built in 1967.
Both of these bridges are included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
Beginning the week of May 11, Route CC will close to traffic, at about three miles north of Route C, for up to three months while crews replace the deck of the Burris Fork Creek bridge.
Once crews have completed the Burris Fork Creek bridge rehabilitation, they will begin the replacement of the Medlen Creek bridge, which will also close Route CC to traffic, for up to three months. The bridges will not be closed at the same time.
Signs will alert motorists of the closure ahead of work beginning. Drivers will need to find alternate routes around the work zones. There will be no signed detour route for this project.
This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
