JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will continue lane closures on Interstate 470 next week as crews progress on repairs to the Hillcrest Bridge over I-470.
Traffic impacts for the week of April 19 include:
- Monday, April 27
- The left two lanes of eastbound I-470 will be closed west of Hillcrest from 6 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- The open eastbound lane of I-470 will adjoin traffic from U.S. Route 71 and Interstate 435 South from 6 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- The ramp northbound Interstate 49 to eastbound I-470 close from 6 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- Tuesday, April 28
- The left two lanes of eastbound I-470 will be closed west of Hillcrest from 6 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- Route 71 and I-435 will merge with the open eastbound I-470 lane.
- Wednesday, April 29
- The left two lanes of westbound I-470 east of Hillcrest will be closed from 6 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- Ramps to southbound I-49, northbound Route 71 and northbound I-435 will be closed.
- Thursday, April 30
- The right lane of westbound I-470 at Blue Ridge and the westbound on-ramp from Blue Ridge will be closed from 6 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- Traffic from westbound I-470 to Blue Ridge will be routed to I-49, Route 71 and northbound I-435 from 6 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- Friday, May 1
- The right lane of westbound I-470 at Blue Ridge and the westbound on-ramp from Blue Ridge will be closed from 6 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- Traffic from westbound I-470 to Blue Ridge will be routed to I-49, Route 71 and northbound I-435 from 6 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
All work is weather dependent.
There will be more lane drops along 470 throughout the project, which is slated to end Dec. 2020.
This bridge project is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
