Pavement Repairs, Then Resurfacing to Begin on Missouri Route 19 in Audrain County

HANNIBAL - A resurfacing project on Missouri Route 19 in Audrain County is scheduled to begin the week of May 4. The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. of Columbia to complete the resurfacing of an eight mile stretch between Route BB just north of Community R-VI School at Scott’s Corner and Route J.

The initial phase of work will include pavement repairs which are estimated to extend through mid-May.  After a break in the schedule, work will resume with paving operations set for the beginning of August.  There will be single-lane closures around the work, including a 12-feet width restriction with flaggers and a pilot car used to direct motorists through the work zone.  The closures will be up to two miles long during daylight hours, Monday through Friday.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.  All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.

Spring is here and highway work zones are beginning to pop up in Missouri.  Barrel Bob, MoDOT’s official work zone spokesbarrel, says as you approach a work zone, please don’t drive distracted.  Always buckle up and put your phone down for your safety and the safety of highway workers.  All work zones are online at www.modot.org, and you can receive the latest news about road work in your area by signing up for e-updates.
