Benton County – A recent inspection of the Benton County Route E culvert over Barkers Creek south of Windsor revealed deteriorating conditions prompting an immediate need to place weight limits on the culvert, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
All vehicles will be limited to 25 tons.
The legal maximum weight limit for vehicles in Missouri is 40 tons.
The culvert was built in 1947 and carries approximately 970 vehicles a day.
MoDOT is developing plans to replace the culvert within the next few years.
