Traffic update: Lane drops at I-470 and Hillcrest Bridge April 20-23

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will continue lane closures on Interstate 470 next week as crews progress on repairs to the Hillcrest Bridge over I-470.

The far-right lane of westbound Interstate 470 at Hillcrest Bridge will also be closed, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday, April 20 through Thursday, April 23. This is an update to the previously scheduled lane closers.

All work is weather dependent.

There will be more lane drops along 470 throughout the project, which is slated to end Dec. 2020.

This bridge project is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
