Bridge Painting Project Awarded by Highway Commission for Bridges on Macon County Route M & J

MACON – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission recently awarded a contract for bridge work on Macon County Route M & J.  The contract was awarded to Omega Coatings and Construction, LLC, of Tarpon Springs, Florida, for bridge painting on Middle Fork Salt River Bridge, located 1.8 miles east of U.S. Route 63 near Atlanta, and Middle Fork Chariton River, located 0.6 mile west of Macon County Route O near Plainview.

Route M at Middle Fork Salt River will remain with one lane open while the work is completed. The contract for this bridge is approximately $89,000.  The contractor has 30 calendar days to complete this project.

Route J at Middle Fork Chariton River will be closed while the work is completed. The contract for this bridge is approximately $32,000.  The contractor has 30 calendar days to complete this project.

Work on these bridges could begin as early as this summer and should be completed by fall.

“We will be able to provide a more specific schedule on this bridge project once the contractor provides the plans for completing the work,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Brian Untiedt.
