MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT: Box Culvert on Greene County Route KK Posted with

Weight Limit Due to Deterioration

What: A recent bridge inspection showed deterioration, requiring MoDOT to restrict heavy loads traveling over a box culvert on Greene County Route KK north of Springfield 

Where: Greene County Route KK between Greene County Route H and U.S. Route 65 between Springfield and Fair Grove 

When: Beginning today (Wednesday, April 15). New weight limit signs will be installed as soon as possible. 

Traffic Impacts:

  • Weight limit on box culvert reduced to 15 tons. (A regular semi-truck weighs 40 tons.)
  • Route KK remains open to traffic
  • Box culvert is safe for travel for lighter weight vehicles 

(Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule)
