JACKSON COUNTY –The Missouri Department of Transportation will CLOSE westbound I-70 within the east side of the downtown loop to complete bridge deck sealing of the 10th St. bridge over I-70 beginning TONIGHT at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 1, until approximately 5 a.m. on Monday, May 4. Motorists MUST use an alternate route at this time. The suggested detour route is westbound I-670 to northbound I-35. All work is weather permitting.
The following areas will be CLOSED:
- Westbound I-70 from the south side of the downtown loop to the north side of the downtown loop.
- Northbound U.S. 71 from the south side of the downtown loop to the north side of the downtown loop.
- The ramp from eastbound I-670 to westbound I-70/northbound U.S.71/northbound I-35.
- The ramp from 10th St. to westbound I-70/northbound U.S.71/northbound I-35.
- The ramp from 11th St. to westbound I-70/northbound U.S.71/northbound I-35.
