JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the far-right lane of Interstate 470, at the onramp from northbound Interstate 49, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15. The ramp from northbound I-49 to I-470 will remain open.
This closure is part of the repairs being made to the Hillcrest Bridge. The far-right lane of westbound Interstate 470 at Hillcrest Bridge will also be closed, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Thursday, April 16.
All work is weather dependent.
There will be more lane drops along I-470 throughout the project, which is slated to end Dec. 2020.
This bridge project is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
