Jasper County – Drivers can expect one-lane traffic when a project to resurface and make bridge improvements begins on Jasper County Route H the week of April 20, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will lay a new asphalt surface along an approximately 18-mile stretch of Route H between Missouri Route 171 and I-49 north of Joplin.
In addition, new guardrail will be added at the ends of bridges over Blackberry Creek and Little North Fork.
Traffic Impacts:
- Traffic reduced to one lane where contractor crews are laying asphalt
- Drivers will encounter pilot cars where crews are working. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone or before entering the work zone from a side road.
- Traffic reduced to one lane with temporary signals alternating traffic across the bridges ‘round the clock when new guardrail is installed
- Drivers are urged to be patient at the bridges and allow oncoming traffic to clear the bridge and the traffic signal indicator to be green before proceeding across the bridge
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
This is part of a larger project that includes resurfacing Jasper County Routes M and MM, and Newton County Route CC. More information about those projects will be announced closer to the projects’ start dates.
