JEFFERSON CITY - The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has approved the replacement of the Route 100 bridge over Shawnee Creek in Osage County.
At its regular meeting this week, the commission awarded the contract for the project to Mera Excavating, which submitted the low bid of $708,160.
The current bridge, which is located west of Morrison, was built in 1947. It is included in Governor Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
Work will begin this summer, though a start date has not yet been established. Once work begins, the road will be closed for up to three months. MoDOT will alert the public with updates through signs, news releases and social media once a start date has been determined.
