NOW OPEN: Interstate 29 at U.S. Route 159 in Holt County

MOUND CITY, Mo. – Crews have reopened Interstate 29 at U.S. Route 159 (Exit 79) near Mound City. Contractors from Boone Construction Co., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, closed the interstate on Monday, March 30, in order to set steel girders as part of the U.S. Route 159 overpass replacement project.

Now that I-29 has reopened to through traffic under the bridge, motorists will be able to access the I-29 on and off ramps from U.S. Route 159. The bridge over the interstate on U.S. Route 159 will remain closed through the end of May 2020. Throughout the project, there will be intermittent lane closures on I-29 in both directions. Drivers are urged to pay attention to all construction signs and barricades.

As with all construction, work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
