What: Gaines Drive CLOSED between entrance to Sears Home Store and Missouri Department of Transportation Project Office and Maintenance Facility in Clinton
When: Beginning 8 a.m., Wednesday April 1 for up to one month
Details: Gaines Drive will be CLOSED between the entrance to Sears and MoDOT’s facility for up to one month while contractor crews replace the pavement and add curb and gutters as part of a project to improve the pavement and intersections along Gaines Drive between Missouri Route 13 and Missouri Route 52.
Drivers wishing to get to the businesses from the west will travel north on Route 13 and then east onto Gaines Drive near the entrance to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital. Drivers from the east can access Gaines Drive via the hospital entrance across Route 7 from Hillcrest Drive.
Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.
Project background
- Moving the entrance to Gaines Drive from Route 13 near Golden Valley Memorial Hospital 400 feet to the north
- Improving the pavement on Gaines Drive between Route 13 east to the Missouri Department of Transportation Project Office and Maintenance Facility
- Extending Gaines Drive east from the MoDOT facilities to connect with Route 52
- Prime contractor: Capital Paving & Construction LLC, Columbia
- Construction costs: $3.4 million
