OREGON, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Phillips Hardy, Inc. to replace the decks of four bridges in Northwest Missouri. These bridges are included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
Crews are ready to begin working on the second bridge over a drainage ditch on Atchison County Route U next week. The bridge, located just over 1 mile south of U.S. Route 136 near Phelps City, is expected to close to all traffic on Monday, April 6 with plans to reopen the bridge in late May.
Earlier this month, crews began working to rehabilitate the bridge on Holt County Route T over Spring Branch near Oregon and expect to complete that portion of the project in early May. The Holt County Route T bridge over Easter Creek and Route H bridge over Nichols Creek are also included in this rehabilitation project and are expected to begin summer 2020.
All work and schedules are weather permitting. During each closure, motorists must use an alternate route.
MoDOT encourages all motorists to slow down, buckle up, eliminate distractions and drive safely to ensure everyone can Arrive Alive.
