Urgent repair work will cause lane closure in I-435 work zone

JACKSON/CLAY COUNTIES – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close one lane of southbound I-435 between Parvin Road and Front St. from 5 a.m. until noon, Saturday, March 28 for urgent expansion joint repair work.

This urgent repair work will happen in an ongoing work zone where crews are currently rehabilitating the I-435 Bridge over the Missouri River. One lane of southbound I-435 is already closed due to construction work. With Saturday’s lane closure, there will only be one lane open during repairs. Motorists can expect delays in the area. All work is weather dependent.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
