Public Meeting Now A Virtual Meeting for Lincoln County Bridge Replacement

Area residents can still get information about McLean's Branch Bridge Closure

HANNIBAL - The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced that out of an abundance of caution due to the coronavirus, we have decided to hold the Missouri Route 79 public meeting about the replacement of McLean's Branch bridge as a virtual public meeting.  The road is expected to close next week so the bridge can be replaced.

MoDOT is committed to making information available to the public, so it is hosting a virtual public meeting beginning at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, on its project website at:  https://www.modot.org/lincoln-county. The public will be able to see all the same information and be able to email any questions to MoDOT from the web page.  If you are unable to access the Internet, please call Project Manager Kimberly Trainor with your questions at 573-248-2576 or Area Engineer Erik Maninga at 573-406-6524.  In addition, the information will be made available at City Hall in Winfield and flyers will be distributed to local businesses with the detour map and other information.  If you would like something mailed to you, please contact MoDOT.

Bleigh Construction Company submitted the low bid of $821,331 and was awarded the contract last fall.  This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.  The program appropriated $50 million in state general revenue to fund 45 high priority bridge projects throughout the state

In an effort to avoid spreading the coronavirus, or COVID-19, MoDOT is taking every precaution to limit in-person contacts. Please feel free to call our toll-free number – 1-888-275-6636 – for any business you have with MoDOT. Thank you for understanding!
