JEFFERSON CITY – Contractors working for the Missouri Department of Transportation will be making pavement, drainage and safety upgrades along Interstate 44 in Laclede County over the next several months. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 16.
The project will include resurfacing of the eastbound and westbound lanes, ramps and crossovers. Pavement repairs, drainage improvements, and guardrail upgrades will also take place along the same stretch. Much of the work will take place overnight and result in periodic eastbound and westbound lane closures during the night.
The project is scheduled to be completed in November. Signs will alert motorists to lane closures or other traffic impacts.
Work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
