ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – It’s time for the girders to be set for the Route 116 overpass project. To move the girders into place, contractor crews will work with the Missouri Department of Transportation to close lanes and implement a rolling closure on Interstate 29 on Wednesday, March 11 at the bridge on Route 116 over I-29 between Faucett and Dearborn, just north of mile marker 32. MoDOT has contracted with Clarkson Construction Company to complete the bridge replacement project.

Details of next week’s lane and rolling closures on I-29:

  • Tuesday, March 10 – 6 a.m. to noon
    • Northbound passing (left) lane closed
  • Wednesday, March 11 – 6:30 to 9 p.m.
    • Northbound and southbound passing (left) lanes closed
  • Wednesday, March 11 – 9 p.m. to Thursday, March 12 – 1 a.m.
    • Full rolling closures. BE PREPARED TO STOP

Additional single-lane closures may be required throughout the duration of the project. If possible, advance notice will be provided through updates, however some lane closures may occur without notice. Advance signing will be in place on the roadway to warn drivers of all lane closures.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones and through the heavy congestion on the detour routes.
