UPDATE: DeKalb County bridge to be replaced

Closure of Route A postponed until March 23

MAYSVILLE, Mo. – Located just south of the DeKalb/Gentry County line on Route A, the North Fork Lost Creek Bridge has been serving motorists since 1935. This bridge is included in Gov. Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program passed by the Missouri General Assembly during its 2019 session. The $351 program will repair or replace 250 bridges throughout the state. The project to replace the 85-year-old bridge will be led by contractors from Boone Construction Company, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Originally, crews planned to close the roadway to all traffic on Monday, March 16, in order to begin the demolition of the old bridge. That closure has been postponed until Monday, March 23. The road will remain closed through June 2020. Motorists must use an alternate route during the closure.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. Please remember to pay attention to all signs and barricades. Never drive around or through barricades, as they are there for your protection and safety. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
